Here is a quick project to turn an old t- shirt into a customized and cute sling bag. A youth day special!

Take an old plain t-shirt. The cloth should be sturdy.
Fold the t-shirt into half and cut the sleeves. Cut the neck in a perfect semi-circle. Fold the t- shirt inside out and cut a 2 inch fringe at the bottom.
Turn the bag right side out and trace the motif. We have used a lady bug motif. Paint the bugs and flowers with crimson red, chrome yellow and black. Use a ’0’ brush for outline. While painting the bag ensure that you insert a piece of corrugated paper sheet or an OHP sheet between the two layers of the cloth, otherwise the colours will seep to the other layer.
Once the colours have dried we will turn the bag inside out again and start knotting the fringe. Take the first pair of fringe and tie it into a knot, then tie two more pairs. Do this till for all. After the first knotting step, in the second knotting, take first and third fringe and tie them , then second to fourth and so on. Ensure there are no holes visible between the knots. Turn the right side out and the bag is ready.
