Materials Needed

Adult Coloring Book, Fevicol Power, Fevicryl Lilac Kit, Fine Art Flat Brush, Fevicryl 3D Cone Outliner, Modge Podge, Wooden Tray, Scissors

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Step 1

Select your favorite colored sheet from the Adult Coloring Book and paint it using your choice of colors from the Fevicryl Acrylic Lilac Kit. I have chosen a design from the “Traditional Art Form” Adult Coloring Book. This design is inspired from the “Chintz” art form which involves usage of bright colors.

Step 2

Step 2

Thoroughly clean the surface of the tray. Using a flat brush, Prime the surface tray by using a mixture of Fevicol and Fevicryl Acrylic White mixed in equal quantities. Allow this to dry.

Step 3

Step 3

Apply a base coat of your choice from the Fevicryl Lilac Kit. I have used Fevicryl Acrylic paint- Deep Brilliant Purple.

Step 4

Step 4

Neatly cut out shapes from the colored sheet using a scissor and stick it onto the tray to form a mosaic. Use Fevicol for sticking. Avoid cutting all the pieces at once. You may lose track or continuity of the design and it will end up like a jigsaw puzzle. Cut and stick one piece at a time.

Step 5

Step 5

Apply a light base coat of a color of your choice on the remaining portion of the wooden tray. I have used a mixture of Fevicryl acrylic paints: White and Deep Brilliant Purple, to get a light pink shade. I have used this mixture as my base coat. Allow this to dry.

Step 6

Step 6

Using a Fevicryl 3D cone outliner of your choice, fill the gaps in between the paper pieces. I have used Fevicryl 3D outliner- pink for my project.

Step 7

Step 7

Use a darker shade of color and a flat brush to paint wood grains. This gives a veneer effect to the tray. Allow this to dry.

Step 8

Step 8

Apply Modge Podge to the finished article. Once dry, you can apply a coat of varnish to seal your work.
