Materials Needed

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours, Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Yellow Ochre 26, White 27, Teal Blue 68, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Canvas Board 8” X 10”, Fine Art Brushes, Rolling Pin, Clay Carving Tools, Paper Cutter, Pencil, Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

We are going to make the traditional wooden dolls called golu dolls from Mysore state, using Mouldit and mount them on canvas for wall décor.
Take plain canvas measuring 8” x 10” in size.

Step 2

Paint the canvas with Acrylic Colour Teal Blue 68 and Black 02.
Let it dry.
Draw the floral border design on the black broad band with white pencil.
Refer to the image.

Step 3

Paint the floral border design with Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
Let it dry.

Step 4

We are going to make the golu dolls with Mouldit.
Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make ebven dough.

Step 5

Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thick slab with rolling pin.
Mark and cut the outline of the dolls from the slab.
Take some clay to build the dolls, the head gear and stick it appropriately using Fabric Glue.
Let it dry.
Your dolls will look like this.

Step 6

We are going to make wooden frame for the canvas.
Paint The Frame and The Golu Dolls Using Acrylic Colours, Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Yellow Ochre 26, White 27 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
Let it dry.

Step 7

Paint the small design of the dots to depict the flowers using Acrylic Colour white 27.
Leave it to dry completely.
