Theyyam is the dance of gods, a ritual art that is performed in the sacred temples in Kerala.Theyyam has its roots mainly in the Kolathunadu region in the Kannur- Kasaragod area. Theyyakkolams or the different types of Theyyams have classified set of appearance based on the painting or decoration of their face and the costumes. Theyyam Face Painting or the Mukhathezhuthu is an art which determines the beauty of the Kolam being performed.
