This conical mask is made using canvas sheet, glass colours and acrylic paints, its painted on a flat sheet of canvas but comes in relief as you make it into a conical shape. You may also use it as a wall mounted lamp with a bulb attached

Materials Needed

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Black 02, White 27, Dark Brown 05, Fevicryl Pearl Metallic - Gold 352, Bronze 355, Fevicryl 3D Outliner Non Sticky Glitter - Gold 401, Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue, Hobby Ideas Water Based Glass Colours - Tomato Red 851, Golden Yellow 852, Sea Blue 852, Crystal Green 854, Fine Art Canvas Sheet 16

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

The border of the crown is painted with a darker shade of gold made by mixing Pearl Metallic - Gold with Black The lips are painted with a darker shade using Pearl Metallic Bronze mixed with Black

Step 2

Draw a Venetian mask design on an A3 sized white paper Trace it on the canvas sheet measuring 16"x 20" in size Paint the face in a light shade made by mixing Acrylic Colours - White with a little bit of Dark Brown

Outline the checkered pattern in the crown with Fevicryl 3D Outliner Non sticky Glitter – Gold Leave it to dry

Fill the checkered pattern with Glass Colours - Tomato Red, Golden Yellow, Sea Blue and Crystal Green Leave it to dry

Paint the eyes with Acrylic Colours - Black, White, and Dark Brown Outline the rest of the crown as well as the design detailed in the crown using 3D Outliner Glitter - Gold

Paint the eyebrows, nose and the outlines of the lips with Acrylic Colour - Black Cut the extra canvas that has been left around the crown.

To make the mask stiff, stick it on the box board with No Stitch Fabric Glue Leave it to dry

Paint the canvas left on the sides of the face with Pearl Metallic - Gold

Cut out a triangular part from one side of the canvas starting from the chin.

Turn the canvas in a conical shape by overlapping it on the rear side and stick it with No Stitch Fabric Glue Pierce a small hole with a pointed tool for hanging it on a nail. Ideally, the conical mask is meant to be hung on the wall above the eye level
