Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
On paper first
Take an A4 white paper, draw a small mandala design that you like on it. Keep in mind that it's going to be a pair of earrings and it has to be made in a pair too.
Trace the same mandala design 4 times on the paper separately.
On the polycot fabric
The earrings need to have a substantial base, so we have used polycot fabric for that. Trace the design on the polycot fabric using yellow carbon paper.
Once it's traced, paint the mandala pattern with Fabric Colours – Salmon Pink 65 and Greenery 67. Let it dry completely.
Step 2
Using LE – White 707 very delicately outline the design for it to look attractive and stand out.
Step 3
A new technique for earrings, the fabric burn out technique, for which firstly, take a burning incense stick and burn out some of parts as per the mandala design on the fabric. We require the jali effect to be created and this would give exactly that look. Be careful and slow while doing this process as the burning out happens rather fast. Make 4 such designs.
Next carefully cut along the outlines of the design and stick them back to back for sturdiness with the help of Fabric Glue.
To give it a earring shape – take the small metal ring and stitch the mandala design along the circumference along with the colouful glass beads.
Lastly, the final touch, attach the feathers towards the bottom part of the earrings and there you have your dreamcatcher earrings.
