Turn your travel bag into a summer sensation with a splash of color to match your summer outfits!
Up-cycled travel bag, scissors, fabric paints (yellow, coral, brown, gold), paper plate, wide angled paintbrush, feather, tassel, charms, beads.
Choose a bag from last summer that is light in color, and has lots of surface for paint.
Cut away extra buckles to expose areas to add paint.
Squeeze fabric paint onto paper plate. I chose yellow, coral, gold and brown. Apply streaks of paint in one direction over the entire front of the bag. Blend colors slightly, and apply paint in a dry-brush method with very small amounts of paint.
Apply streaks of paint in the opposite direction, over the previous painted areas. Blend colors slightly, so that the colors still read individually. Let some of the lighter color (yellow) show heavier as accents.
Let paint dry completely before using. Embellish with feathers, charms, tassels and beads.
