Kirigami card with Chocolate box

Kirigami as a craft is a very interesting hobby to inculcate. A paper craft that involves folding and cutting paper to create beautiful forms and shapes. Here we have very innovatively made a floral kirigami pattern to make fancy diy chocolate box with a season's greeting card. Something that can be made for special occasions. A kirigami greeting card with a chocolate box is something very different and a pleasure to receive.

Materials Needed

Fevicryl 3D Outliner Glitter - Gold 401, Fevicol MR, Half Imperial Sheet of Red Card Paper, A4 Sized White Paper, A4 Sized Neon Yellow Paper, White Pencil, Ruler, Paper Cutter.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Choose a nice bright colour of your choice, we have taken a red card paper and have drawn a box template that would be an extension to the card. The box would measure 21” x 10” in size.

Now follow the template and cut along the outlines.

Since the box and card would have the typical kirigami effect choose an appropriate pattern. We have chosen a floral pattern for this.

Now cut out the floral design with a sharp paper cutter and what you will get is a beautiful cutwork pattern.

Start sticking the marked outlines appropriately with Fevicol MR and leave it to dry and take shape. The box attached to the card is ready and would look like this.

It's time now to enhance and beautify the card and box, use Glitter Gold 401 and outline the pattern and leave it to dry.

We need a backing for the card so that the kirigami effect is highlighted. For that take a bright neon shade of paper the same size as that of the card and stick it from the rear side of the card with Fevicol MR.
