Materials Needed

Fevicryl Fabric Colours - Black 202, Chrome Yellow 203, Crimson 204, Golden Yellow 209, Lemon Yellow 211, Orange 217, Sap Green 221, White 227, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic - Gold 352, Fine Art Brushes, Plain White Dupatta for Men With a Golden Border, A4 White Paper, Red Carbon Paper, Pencil, Wooden Embroidery Ring, Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Step 1

  • Melmundu, inspired by the Kerala mural depiction of Lord Ganesh as seen in temples, is our DIY here.
  • Take a plain white dupatta with a golden border.
  • Take an A4 white paper, draw Lord Ganesha the Kerala mural style with a border.
  • Trace the same design on both the sides of the dupatta with yellow carbon paper.
  • Refer to the image.

  • Paint the outline of the design along with the border using Fevicryl Fabric Colour -  Crimson 204.
  • Let it dry.

  • Start painting the design using Fevicryl Fabric Colours - Black 202, Chrome Yellow 203, Crimson 204, Golden Yellow 209, Lemon Yellow 211, Orange 217, Sap Green 221, White 227 and Pearl Metallic - Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.

  • The painted design will look like this, at this stage.
  • Make sure to use an embroidery ring while painting.
