Greeting card using Iris folding

Iris folding is a paper craft which originated in Netherlands. The overlapping spiralling layers of folded paper creates an iris folded design which is similar to iris aperture in a camera, hence the name iris folding.

Materials Needed

CARDS ,CUTTING KNIFE, PENCIL, CUTTING MAT, RULER, ADHESIVE TAPE, SCISSORS, PRINTED PAPER, CHENILLE STICK,MASKING PAPER

Step-by-Step Instructions

You require to know the pattern you are trying to create.

Copy that pattern on the backside of a card and cut out the outline , cut strips of about 2.5 cms width and fold them to get smoothness (0.5 cm)

Step 3

Place the card on the pattern and start placing the strips exactly against the line matching the numbers and stick down the left hand and right hand side, using adhesive tape or Fevicol MR. Finally cover it with a piece of paper so that the back of the card looks perfect.
