It was a waste box at first which is being converted into decoupaged box to keep valuables.

Materials Needed

Fevicryl Modge Podge, Fevicryl Acrylic Colours, Fine Art Brush, Wooden box, Gesso, Decoupage tissue, Varnish, Sandpaper

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Step 1

First of all, clean the box and apply sand paper gently to make a smooth surface. Clean from inside as well if needed.

Step 2

Apply 2 coats of gesso on outer surface. Make sure the base would not be seen. Let it dry.

Step 3

Apply very thin layer of Fevicryl Modge Podge and stick the decoupage tissue on it. Press gently on the tissue removing any air bubbles. Let it dry. ( make sure you peel off 2 layers of tissue before using it.) Apply tissue all over the box accept the bottom.

Paint the box from inside with the Fevicryl Acrylic Colours to get a complete look. (2 coats preferably) let it dry.

Step 5

Apply 2 coats of Modge Podge on all the surfaces to seal the work. Let it dry completely and finally apply Varnish.
