A DIY for Mother’s Day, the bond of a mother & daughter beautifully recreated here. A chopping board used as a base, where the two are seen sitting on a swing. Place a message or a phrase within that conveys your love for your Mom, this Mother’s Day.

Materials Needed

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Pink 18, Violet 25, White 27 And Cerulean Blue 32, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Wooden Chopping Board, Clay Carving Tools, Paper Cutter, Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to make an even soft dough.

Step 2

Take plain wooden chopping board.

Step 3

Draw the simple sketch of a mother & daughter on the swing, in the midst of a garden theme. There will be a fence, trees etc that are commonly seen in a garden or park. Translate this sketch on the board, where it would be further developed.
Take the dough and shape the elements – trees with branches & leaves, the duo on the swing, with fencing around the garden as seen in the image. Make a small placard that says ‘Mom & I”, this would be hung on one of the branches.
Follow the imageries on the board and stick the elements appropriately, using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

Step 4

Paint with a base coat of Fevicryl Acrylic Colour - White 27.
Let it dry.

Step 5

Paint using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Pink 18, Violet 25, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32.
Let it dry.
