Materials Needed

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Light Green 12, Orange 17, White 27, Sky Blue 63, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Canvas Sheet, Fine Art Brushes, Piece Of Denim Fabric (From Old Jeans), Pencil, A4 White Paper, White Carbon Paper, Scissors, Ruler, Assorted Colourful Glass Beads, Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

We are going to make a pendant using colourful beads and Fevicryl Acrylic Colours.
We would be using a denim fabric for sturdiness, like your old jeans.
Mark and cut a rectangular denim fabric piece measuring 5” x 7” in size.
Take an A4 white paper, draw a Yoruba bead work design on it measuring 3” x 4” in size.
Trace the design on the denim fabric with white carbon paper.

Step 2

Start sticking the assorted glass beads using Fabric Glue, by leaving few areas for painting. Leave it to dry completely.
Refer to the image for the placement.
Paint the motifs in the design with Acrylic Colours - Light Green 12, Orange 17, White 27 and Sky Blue 63.
Let it dry.

Step 3

The pendant design will look like this after being completed.
We are going to fray the three edges of the denim fabric as shown in the image.
Cut the extra-long threads with a pair of scissors.

Step 4

We are going to make fabric beads for the necklace using canvas sheet measuring approximately 2” size in height.
Secure the ends of the beads with Fabric Glue.
Let it dry.

Step 5

Decorate the fabric / canvas beads by sticking the assorted glass beads using Fabric Glue.
Let it dry.

Step 6

Take the beaded strands, pass the cord through each canvas bead neatly and attach the pendant neatly.
