A durry that is simply rich and elegant. Made with fabric, Fevicryl Fabric Colours and the pattern inspired from the adire style patterns from a tribe in Africa.

Materials Needed

Fevicryl Fabric Colours - White 227, Sky Blue 263, Fine Art Brushes, Half a Meter Black Fabric, Pencil, A3 White Paper, White Carbon Paper, Ready Tassels, Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

  • Stitch and secure the edges neatly.
  • Take the tassels and stitch along the sides towards the opposite edges.

  • We are making a durry inspired by motifs as seen in the Adire tribe of Africa.
  • Take A3 white papers. Draw the motifs from the Adire Yoruba tribe measuring 18” x 24” in size.

  • Take a dark blue fabric measuring 18” × 24” in size.
  • Trace the design on it using white carbon paper.

Step 4

Step 4

  • Paint with Fevicryl Fabric Colours - 227 and Sky Blue 63.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
