Marsala Tassel

The 2015 Pantone color of the year, Marsala is dominating fashion trends for monsoon as embellishments, accessories and craft projects such as this richly colored tassel created with yarn and beads to attach to a bohemian style shoulder bag, perfect for day wear. A beautiful tassel can be attached to anything, such as a necklace, tote bag, or even a hat!

Materials Needed

Fevicol Mr, Yarn/ Wool, Beads, Wire, Scissors, Wire Cutters, Tassel ToolOption: Cardboard cut to desired size, may be used instead of Tassel Tool.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Material needed to make the Tassels.

Step 2

Wind yarn/wool around Tassel Tool at the desired size. The tassel in the photo is 5-inches long. Option: Cut heavy cardboard 5-inches long x 4 inches wide, and wind yarn around cardboard. Continue winding yarn around the Tassel Tool 20 times.

Slip 8 inches of wire under the yarn at the top of the tassel, and twist.

Thread beads onto wire and twist wire into a loop at the top of the beads.

Tie a piece of yarn around the neck of the tassel where the Tassel Tool has a slit. Option: If using cardboard, slip yarn off cardboard and tie the top of the tassel with yarn, 1 inch from the top of the tassel.

Cut bottom of tassel with scissors.

Pull tassel off the Tassel Tool.

Trim bottom of tassel if necessary. Tassel is ready to attach to bag.
