It is almost Republic Day and it is time to celebrate the day all across the age groups. Here is a simple and popular project for you that helps you learn how to make pinwheels. Making and crafting these paper pinwheels is an engaging and exciting activity.

Materials Needed

Fevicol MR, A4 Sized Violet, Orange, White, Green Colour Papers, Scissors, Pencil, Ruler

Step-by-Step Instructions

Your pinwheel will look like this on this stage. Leave it to dry. Make two such pinwheels.

Take an A4 sized Orange, White, Green Colour Papers. We are going to make two different sized pinwheels. Draw and cut 5” x 5” and 7” x 7”sized squares.

Cut the squares from the centre to make triangular shapes. Refer to the image. Cut about 12 triangles of both the sizes.

Take tricolor triangles. Join and stick two opposite corners to make the petal shape using Fevicol MR. Refer to the image.

Take orange colour paper. Draw and cut small sized circle measuring 1” diameter. Stick the triangular shaped petals in the centre using fabric glue.

Take blue colour card paper. Make the fanfold out of it to make the centre of the pinwheel. Stick the fanfold shape circles in the centre of the pinwheel along with the button using fabric glue. Leave it to dry. Take the stick or the straws to stick the pinwheel on it with fabric glue. Now that you have learnt how to make paper pinwheels for Republic Day, you could attempt making them with varied techniques for several other special occasions. Make them as colourful and vibrantly and see them in full bloom in the breeze and watch its wonder.
