A simple and basic spool is upcycled to make an attractive and trendy stool. The rooster painted on it's base is simply beautiful with the colours used in the technique explained below. It can be placed in one of your comfort zone spaces in your house, a cozy corner.

Materials Needed

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Ultramarine Blue 23, Prussian Blue 19, Violet 25, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32, Sky Blue 63, Fine Art Brushes, Water Container, Colour Palette, MDF Wooden Round Shaped Placemat 12” in Diameter, Pencil, A3 Sized White Paper, White Carbon Paper, Recycled Reel Of Cable Wire.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Take an MDF round placemat measuring 12”in diameter. Paint the placemat with Acrylic Colours - Black 02 and Prussian Blue 19. Let it dry.

Take an A3 sized white paper and draw a circle in the size of the placemat. Draw a rooster in the circle. Trace the same rooster on the painted placemat with white carbon paper.

Paint the rooster in the pointillism style using Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Ultramarine Blue 23, Prussian Blue 19, Violet 25, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32 and Sky Blue 63. Let it dry. Take a recycled wooden reel of cable wire, paint the reel with Acrylic Colour - White 27. Fix the painted rooster placemat on the reel as a table top.
