Materials Needed

Fevicryl Fabric Colours Black 202, Prussian Blue 219, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, 1 Meter Cotton Fabric Grey Colour, half a Meter Poplin White Colour Fabric, Scissors, Pencil, Cobbler Thread, Assorted Embellishments (Metallic Colour Cutdana, White Cutdana, Tear Drop Shaped Gottapatti), Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • We are going to make a Shibori pattern design blouse using Fabric Colours.
  • Take the white poplin fabric and fold it in an accordion style (fan folds).
  • Fold the fabric again to make a triangular shape, then tie the 3 corners with cobbler thread or rubber bands. (You can follow any of the many Shibori folding techniques).

  • Dye the folded fabric in an indigo shade using Fevicryl Fabric Colours Black 202 and Prussian Blue 219. Let it dry.

  • Take the dyed fabric, mark, and cut a paisley shape from the fabric.
  • Enhance the paisley shape using assorted embellishments like Metallic Colour Cutdana, White Cutdana, and Tear Drop Shaped Gottapatti, adhering them with Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

  • Take the grey fabric and the dyed fabric with the Shibori pattern, then stitch them to create the tailored blouse with a bow on the rear side for tying.
  • Stick the paisley-shaped patch on the back using Fabric Glue.
