Give your shorts from last year a summer make-over by adding Bohemian style with paint, trims and tassels that will make a fun fashion statement!
Denim shorts, scissors, pompom trim, fabric adhesive, chalk, fabric paints (white, yellow, lime, blue, red), paintbrush, paper plate, pencil with eraser, soft cloth.
Cut off hem of shorts, cutting a slightly curved angle on each side.
Add pompom trim to edge of shorts with fabric adhesive. Pin in place if needed, and let dry.
Draw circles on shorts with chalk, adding diagonal lines to use when painting mandalas.
Paint mandalas, starting with outer circle, and adding additional colors toward the center until completely filled with color. I used fabric paint colors white, yellow, lime, blue, and red.
Add dots of color, using the eraser end of a pencil by dabbing into the paint and then apply paint in dots.
Let fabric adhesive and paint dry completely. Wipe chalk away with soft cloth. Embellish with tassels made from yarn.
