Summer shoes are more fun and flirty than ever, when you use celery to create stamps and paint roses in pretty feminine colors.
Fevicryl Acrylic Colours – Crimson 04, Lemon Yellow 11, Light Green 12, White 27,Fine Art Canvas Sheet, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Colour Palette, White canvas high-top shoes, craft knife, a bunch of celery, knife, sponge brush, scissors, pink grosgrain ribbon.
Start with white canvas high-top tennis shoes. Remove the shoelaces.
Remove tags with craft knife.
Cut stalks off a bunch of celery. Keep the bottom of the bunch to use as a rose stamp.
Squeeze fabric paint onto a paper plate. I used white, pink and red. You will need a sponge brush and white canvas fabric.
Dab fabric paint onto the celery stamp, blending the colors slightly.
Press paint covered stamp onto fabric to create rose design.
Continue to stamp rose designs on the fabric.
Squeeze paint onto paper plate for leaves. I used lime and green. Cut one stalk away from the bunch of celery. Dab paint onto the stalk, blending slightly. Press paint covered celery onto fabric to create leaves around the roses. Let dry completely.
Cut fabric the same shape as the tongues on the shoes.
Adhere painted fabric to tongues of shoes with fabric adhesive. Be careful to glue completely to the edges of the fabric.
Let adhesive dry. Re-string shoes with pink grosgrain ribbon to complete.
