Painting feathers is a super fun and easy way to add a little summer fun to your favorite hat!
Feathers, fabric paints (lime,coral, blue), cotton swabs, paintbrush, paper plate, covered work surface, hat band, hat.
Choose white feathers so that the colors pop!
Squeeze fabric paint (which is great for painting feathers) onto disposable plate. I chose lime green, blue, and coral. Grab a paint brush and cotton swabs for applying paint. Cover the work surface with disposable paper for easy clean-up.
To paint stripes, load brush with color and apply from the quill to the edge of feathers, in a striped design.
To paint edges, load brush with color and apply strokes of paint along the edges of the feather.
For an additional design, dip cotton swabs in color and apply paint in dots.
Let feathers dry, the insert in leather band of your favorite summer hat.
