Take a reference image of a Theyyam dancers face from the net You may take other references as per your choice
Trace the outline of the face on a tracing paper in the size of about 9 inches long and proportionately wide
Draw a circle of about 10 inches in diameter on a black fabric Trace the outlines of the face in the centre of the circle drawn on the black fabric
Colour the face in a lighter shade of orange made by mixing Acrylic Colours - Orange and White leaving the areas unpainted for the eyes, ears and lips
Colour the white areas of the eyes using Acrylic Colour – White The eye balls in black fabric Highlight the eyeballs with a dot of Acrylic Colour - White Paint the design on the face finely with Acrylic Colours – Crimson and Chrome Yellow Leave it to dry
Add more details in the design using Acrylic Colours – Crimson and Chrome Yellow Colour the head gear using Acrylic Colour – White in the dry brush technique
Complete the head gear by giving short strokes of Acrylic Colour - Orange Highlight the white portion of the head gear with few dry brush strokes in Chrome Yellow Leave it to dry
