Wolf in Lipan Art style

A replacement for the well-known mud and mirror work art, which is acclaimed as Lipan Art, we have used the same technique to make this beautiful home décor item.

Materials Needed

Fevicryl Acrylic Colour - White 27, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, MDF Placemat 12” Diameter, A3 White Paper, Yellow Carbon Paper, Pencil, Assorted Mirrors, Paper Cutter, Pencil, Colour Palette, Water Container

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • The finished design of the wolf in Lipan art will look like this.

  • Take a MDF plank measuring 12” diameter.
  • Take an A3 white paper, draw the face of a wolf on it.
  • We are going to use Lipan art style to create this article.

Step 3

  • Trace the same wolf on the plank with yellow carbon paper,

  • Take Fevicryl Mouldit - resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to form an even dough.
  • Make coils of Mouldit and start pasting them by following the tracing of the wolf.

  • Roll it to make the coils out of it.
  • Stick the coils on the outline of the wolf face using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.

Step 6

  • The finished coil work will look like this.
  • Paint the base coat with Acrylic Colour - White 27.
  • Let it dry.
  • Start sticking the assorted mirrors in the design using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry completely.
